Eligibility:
The “Courage in My Community” Essay Competition is open to all students in grades 5-8 in the United States. There is no limitation on the number of essays a school can submit; we encourage you to engage as many students as possible in this competition.  We ask, however, that your school only submit one essay per student, and to limit the essays to two or fewer pages. Deadline for all essay submissions is February 12th, 2012. Visit the login page to complete your registration and online submission.

Please include the following information on each essay:

1. Student’s name and grade
2. Teacher’s name
3. School name
4. School district, City, State
5. Contact information (phone and email) to reach teacher of winning student essay.
6. Student/Permission Release form

Photographs (optional):
Each essay may be accompanied by a digital photograph of the author in one of the following formats: JPG, TIF, or BMP.  File size may not exceed 500kb.  Photos will only be accepted via online submission.
